Update to School Safety 8/26/23

Dear Adams Central Community,

During the rain delay at last night's football game, we became aware of a potential threat at our school. Authorities were notified and as a precaution the school went into lockdown. In conjunction with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, we were able to determine no threat existed at school and were able to safely dismiss students, staff and fans shortly thereafter.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office was able to investigate and determined there was NO CREDIBLE THREAT towards our students, staff or district.

We WILL proceed with activities on Saturday as regularly scheduled. At this time, we expect to have school as normal on Monday, August 28th, 2023. If additional information becomes available to change our status, parents will be notified. Safety is one of our top priorities and we feel confident in returning to normal at this time.

I would like to thank the students who brought this to our attention, the staff who took action throughout this process and the diligence and thoroughness of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
